Longtime Sgt. Lynn Schoenfeld officially announced his candidacy for Clackamas County sheriff late Friday, saying he “has concerns for this agency and its future.”
Schoenfeld, 51, of Beavercreek, is a 28-year employee of the Sheriff’s Office. He works patrol and plans to retire at the end of the month. Schoenfeld last week set up a campaign committee, according to the Oregon Secretary of State.
In a written statement, Schoenfeld said he decided to run because he’s seen the agency “adrift” under Sheriff Craig Roberts and said his campaign platform would focus on the Sheriff’s Office finances and issues of “community livability."
